Bethany Rydmark, ASLA, PLA
Bethany brings to the design process her deep roots as an eighth generation Oregonian, her love of land and plants, and her connections to people who appreciate the care and tending of meaningful places.
In professional practice since 2006, she has experience developing therapeutic gardens, wildlife refuges, urban gardens, wineries, farms, retreat centers, and estates. Following a year-long trip around the world, she founded Bethany Rydmark :: Landscapes in 2013 and frequently works in collaboration with excellent builders, architects, and designers throughout the Pacific Northwest. She appreciates the craft of design and quality construction and values the hard work of tending the earth and sharing beautiful spaces with big-hearted people.
Bethany is a licensed Landscape Architect in Oregon and Washington and holds a Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Oregon. Her overseas studies at Lincoln University in New Zealand and travels to 35 countries and territories around the world provide deep wells of inspiration for her craft and appreciation for regional design.
When she’s not collaborating with clients, she can be found organizing the PDX Food Swap as a gathering place for people who make, share, and celebrate handcrafted foods in Portland, Oregon.
